The Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential for the Sierra 7″ fits a variety of vehicles using a 7″ Sierra differential casing, and is available in 2 different helix angles to suit different applications.
The standard helix angle suits the Ford Sierra and other saloon cars using the Sierra 7″ rear differential.
The 23 degree helix angle is designed for use light weight RWD cars such as the Caterham 7, where use of the standard helix angle would be too aggressive and cause the car to “push on” in corners.
Optional Quaife drive flanges are available if using the Ford bolt on drive shafts, otherwise the standard push in drive shafts will fit straight in.
A direct replacement for the standard open differential, the Quaife ATB differential transforms your car’s performance. Unlike a conventional plate-style limited slip differential, the ATB differential relies on gears rather than clutch plates for its operation. That means it is much smoother in operation.
The Quaife ATB differential never locks harshly with a set pre-load of wheel slip across the driven axle, like a conventional LSD. Rather, it automatically biases the torque away from the spinning wheel across the axle, to a constantly varying degree, and never locks.
